Do you really like a 1-of-1 NFT and want to know if it will be a good buy?
Here are some points to consider, that might help you decide:

Do you resonate with it?

Your 1 of 1 artist is showcasing their thoughts, ideas, and concepts out on canvas.
Ask yourself,
Is it something you resonate with?
Does the concept make sense to you on a deeper level?
What about this artwork attracted you initially?
Is it thought-provoking without being too complicated to understand?

Most of the time, if you have an emotional connection to the artwork, buying it (if it’s within your budget) is a good idea.
That is how many traditional collectors find underrated artists.
A conceptually-strong artwork leaves a strong impression to bring light and color to your world.

Background check on the artist

Run their socials(Their LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Website),

Do they have work-in-progress videos?

Reach out to them to understand the process of creation,
Ask questions such as:
What equipment/software/materials did they use?
How long did it take them to complete the work?
Are they self-taught or took formal education in art?
Does the artist have a cohesive style that you like? Or do they have a varied style but are proficient in many mediums and techniques?
A legit artist will gladly share processes and decisions per artwork.
Do a google image reverse search for the artwork to make sure it’s original.

Knowing more about the artist will help you decide if the artwork is worth buying.

Colors

Good art uses good color palettes. According to color theory, some sure-shot palettes would include analogous, complementary, triadic, monochromatic, split-complimentary.
Does the artwork follow a certain theme that reflects an emotion?
Are the colors well-distributed and efficiently displaying light and shadow?

omposition

A strong composition revolves around certain focal points through some techniques such as:

-Contrast
-Isolation
-Placement
-Convergence
-The Unusual

…are used to create a pleasing composition.

Does the artwork have a focal point?
Does it follow the rule of thirds?
Does it have a golden ratio inclusion?

Does it follow the principles of Design?
-Balance
-Proportion
-Movement
-Rhythm
-Harmony
-Unity
-Emphasis
-Variety

Composition is not “guesswork”. A great composition is not the result of luck and it’s certainly not about talent.
It’s about understanding how the artist has visually interacted with what he/she has created with careful planning.

Theme and Style

What is the overall theme of the artwork?
Is the artwork a portrait, a landscape, an illustration of ideas?
What’s the style of the artwork?
Some of the styles include:
-Abstract
-Modern
-Impressionism
-Pop-Art
-Cubism
-Surrealism
-Contemporary
-Fantasy
-Graffiti

Knowing MORE about the above pointers and researching in detail, will for sure give you a better eye for good art.

What is a DAO? Introduction to Decentralized Autonomous Organizations

The DAO is a type of decentralized organization that has a set of smart contracts built into it.

DAOs use blockchain technology to operate as a digital ledger for transactions. They are run by the rules coded within the smart contracts and were made popular by the Ethereum Foundation as an example of such a contract.

How a DAO Works and Why it’s so Revolutionary?

A DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization, a type of artificial intelligence that is powered by smart contracts and blockchain technology.

They are designed to be completely transparent, inviting everyone with internet connection to take part in the process of decision making. A decentralized autonomous organization does not have any human or in-person leadership. The A DAO does not have any centralized decision-making process.

It’s revolutionary because it’s an innovative way to structure organizations with artificial intelligence in order to give everyone with internet connection the opportunity to take part in the process of decision making.

In the world of AI, there are two primary ways in which the technology can be used: as a pure computation engine or as an embedded component in a product. In this article, we take the former approach and explore how DAOs work and why they’re so revolutionary.

The idea of DAOs have been around for a few years now, but it’s only recently that they have seen widespread adoption in the real world. One of the best examples is from the entertainment industry. ERC-721 tokens are utilized by artists to circumvent traditional models and take control of their work. This ensures that artists are paid for every piece sold, and not held back by royalties.

DAO-powered Platforms- A New Business Model for Startups?

With the arrival of blockchain technology and improved DAO-powered platforms, new opportunities arise for companies to take advantage of the decentralization in the form of a democratic organizational structure. This gives startups more autonomy and flexibility that is often lost in traditional centralized structures.

Conclusion: Blockchain & DAOs are Revolutionizing Business Landscape Worldwide

A key problem in business today is that it is hard to coordinate across big, slow hierarchies. Blockchain models provide the opportunity to create decentralized networks that are not just more efficient but are also distributed in nature.

This creates a whole new paradigm of organization with access to better information at all levels of the company. There are many blockchain-based models for running companies which have created a revolution in the business world.

Finally ready to take the plunge and start collecting NFTs? Unless you’re staying on a platform like Nifty Gateway, you’re likely going to need to setup a Wallet.  For this tutorial we’re going to make a few assumptions.  First, you’re using coinbase (or a similar platform) to buy your crypto currency. Second, you are comfortable adding plugins to chrome or firefox.

This guide will provide step by step instructions on how to Buy Ethereum on Coinbase, Transfer that Ethereum to Metamask, and connect your metmask to OpenSea (or a web3 app to mint) and Buy the NFTs.

Metamask is currently the most popular wallet choice for many NFT Collectors, there are advantages and disadvantages to this.  Metamask is considered a hot wallet meaning it connects and interacts directly with web3 contracts.  This does pose some risk.  The most important things you can do are protect your seed phrase and password at all times.  If a nefarious actor gains access to your seed phrase, they can steal your NFTs and currency.

Additionally, with metamask you can buy Ethereum with a debit card or Apple pay by clicking add funds after it is installed.

If you already have a coinbase account setup, you can login and look at the top right corner.  You will have two options: Buy / Sell and Send / Receive.  If you already have ETH, you will press the Send / Receive option. This will bring up a screen that asks you what address you want to send currency to.  Select ethereum as the option and then you will need to import your Metamask Wallet Address. You will then paste this address into the coinbase field in question.

Once you put everything in, you will be able to press continue.  It will take a few minutes, but the Eth will appear in your metamask wallet.
