Growing up surrounded by the works of iconic photographers like HERB RITZ, PETER LINDBERGH, HELMUT NEWTON, and JEANLOU SIEFF had a profound impact on me. Can you tell us a little about your background and how you became interested in photography and art?

My name is Gabriele, and I’m known as donborto.eth in the NFT world. I am a film photographer and an AI enthusiast. My journey began with posting travel content on Instagram, as I was inspired by others traveling to beautiful hotels and resorts. My IG followers started to grow, and more hotels became interested in my content. This gave me the opportunity to collaborate with hotels around Europe, such as Nice, Hamburg, Berlin, and Brussels. I never thought I could turn this into a career. During the first COVID lockdown, I thought a lot about what I should do with my life and what the possibilities were. I decided to concentrate my energy on photography full time. As I improved my skills, I started to reach out to more models and agencies.

What inspires you as a photographer and artist, and how does this inspire your work?

I love summer, and when people see my images, I want to give them the feeling of summer.

Can you talk about your experience exploring AI and how it has influenced your creative process?

I started to explore AI at the end of January with Copy.ai, Chatgbt, and Midjourney. Midjourney, in particular, helps me expand my creativity to find the best prompts for building my Polaroid Wall collection.

What motivated you to create Polaroid Walls, and what was your inspiration for the project?

Polaroid Wall was born in mid-February. I was scrolling through NFT Twitter and saw a lot of Polaroid images, and that’s when the idea popped into my mind. Polaroid Wall has been an experiment since day one. Before the drop, I improved a lot on how to guide the AI for what I needed.

How does Polaroid Walls work, and what can people expect to experience when they view your NFTs?

Polaroid Wall is an NFT collection generated by AI of Polaroid images with my editing skills. I don’t expect anything from people. Everyone has a different opinion on AI, and if they like what I create, I’m happy.

How did you incorporate AI into Polaroid Walls, and what challenges did you face during the creation process?

Polaroid Wall was hard to elaborate. People think that you can write four things on Midjourney and then get what you think in mind. It’s way different from that. I start on the Midjourney explore page to find what prompts to use. After a few experiments, I had my first Polaroid. I was happy, but I felt like I missed something. One day, I noticed that I could search singular words, so I immediately tried to find “Polaroid.” I looked at them and finally found the perfect prompt to generate Polaroids. OK, now I have the prompts to generate Polaroid, but models aren’t always perfect. Eyes might not align, teeth, hair, fingers, etc. I used the same method as I found the Polaroid, looking for what people wrote for models, and implemented it. The same method applied for dress, way of shooting, angles, etc. The day before the drop, I saw Midjourney V5, so for the Polaroids, I wasn’t 100% sure I used the same prompts. They turned out wild good, so I switched some of them. You see 101 Polaroid in the collection, but in my archive, I have almost 300 AI Polaroids.

Can you talk about the importance of NFTs in the art world and how they are changing the way artists create and sell their work?

NFTs matter because they represent a new way of thinking about digital ownership and value. In the past, digital content has been difficult to monetize because it is easily replicable and shareable. NFTs, however, allow creators to create and sell unique digital assets that can be bought and sold just like physical assets.

For artists, NFTs provide a new way to monetize their work and reach a wider audience. By creating and selling NFTs, artists can receive royalties every time their work is resold, providing a new source of income that is not dependent on traditional gatekeepers like galleries or auction houses.

For collectors and investors, NFTs represent a new asset class that has the potential for significant growth in value over time. As the market for NFTs continues to grow and evolve, it is becoming increasingly important for investors to understand the potential risks and rewards of investing in this emerging asset class.

What sets Polaroid Walls apart from other NFT projects, and how do you see it evolving in the future?

Polaroid Wall is unique because it is an experiment that combines my editing skills with AI-generated images. It is constantly evolving, and with Polaroid 2.0, holders can create their own unique Polaroid by mixing two or more Polaroids into one. After April 19th, holders of Polaroids can have a new unique Polaroid with the fusion of what they collected.

What do you hope people take away from your NFTs, and what impact do you hope your art has on the world?

If people feel summer watching my photography, I consider it a win. If my grandchildren learn about web3 in school, and there is my name, that is the impact I want for my art.

How has the NFT community influenced your work, and what do you think the future of NFTs looks like?

The NFT community influences me every day, and I am constantly learning and experimenting with new ideas. Twitter is where all artists post their art, and you can pick up a little bit from everyone and experiment on your daily work.

Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or collaborations you have in the works?

Upcoming projects for AI: Polaroid 2.0; for photography: I have several shoots already booked, and summer is around the corner, so I’m preparing something at the end of September. As a creative person, I will continue exploring AI, and I have started using Adobe Illustrator as well.

How do you balance the technical aspects of AI and NFT creation with the artistic and creative aspects of your work?

AI accelerates a lot of things for my work, especially the business side with emails, copy, ads, reaching out, and how to write in the most effective way as English is not my first language. Creative side, Midjourney, and the creation of Polaroid Wall helps me on mood board, photography angles & styling.

How does your background in photography inform your approach to creating NFTs and working with AI?

Photography and NFTs are the perfect match, and without my photography background, I could not have created Polaroid Wall with AI.

Can you talk about any challenges you have faced as an artist working with emerging technologies like AI and NFTs?

On a daily basis, people think that NFTs are a scam, maybe because they only see the news, but that is okay. NFTs are a life change for most of us. Living creating art is the dream for all of us, and I think it’s possible. AI is a strange vibe. During the process of Polaroid Wall, I was afraid to see all these photos created that looked like the reality, questioning if this is now what we can have in the near future. I think most people are afraid of this. My community is half pro-half against AI

What advice do you have for aspiring artists who want to explore new technologies and mediums like AI and NFTs?

My advice to aspiring artists who want to explore new technologies and mediums like AI and NFTs is to do it. It’s scary at first, but when you learn and earn quickly from these things, you will have plenty of opportunities. The journey of an artist is a long and winding road, filled with ups and downs, successes and failures, and moments of inspiration and frustration. It’s part of this process, and you have one life, one shot, so try everything you can.

How do you see AI and NFTs evolving in the art world over the next few years, and how do you plan to adapt and grow with these changes?

I see AI and NFTs evolving constantly, with new things being built and creative people inventing something new every day. The NFT world is like a whiteboard, and you have a pen to write. AI will have a massive impact on our lives, also in real life, so you need to adapt and go with the flow.

Experimentation and pushing the boundaries of art and technology are essential in my creative process because if you don’t learn, you will never grow and improve.

Can you discuss any social or political themes that you explore in your art, and how do you hope your NFTs contribute to these conversations?

I don’t like to create art for social or political themes. I’m more for vibing and creating what I like.

What do you think makes a successful NFT project, and how do you measure success with your projects?

A sold-out project is the apex of an NFT project, but every NFT project I create, I analyze what I did well and what I did wrong to improve for the next ones. Success isn’t determined by having a sold-out project, some sales, or nothing. Success is determined by the ability to move small steps every day and learning from your failures about past projects and experiments. When you are ready to drop, see what works well and replicate it, look at what you did wrong and try different methods. Success is the journey.

Can you talk about any ways in which you use data and analytics to inform your creative decisions when working with AI and NFTs?

I have a notebook of all my previous NFT project drops to see the good and bad things. I analyze this data to improve my future projects. Maybe I have to invent an AI tool for this. It could be an idea!

We are excited to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with Talvir, an incredibly talented and revered NFT art curator. Known for his altruistic approach and dedication to helping artists succeed, Talvir has built a reputation for being “all heart” in the NFT art community. He is constantly pushing the boundaries and finding new artists to showcase, and his curation often sends their careers in new and exciting directions. With another exciting drop on Nifty Gateway coming up, we are thrilled to learn more about what he’s been up to in the NFT art space and what we can expect from his upcoming release MOMENTS IN TIME.

Before we get into your background, let’s start with the drop. Why this group of creators?

These are some of my personal favourite artists who can tell stories through their photography. Everybody perceives photography in a different manner so no matter what the same photograph cannot be replicated, by using this ideal the photographers in this drop all have a story in which can never be told again. Ashmit Galav is a photographer based in India, he featured in my initial drop and is now showcasing his works once more in a still image solely produced by himself. Cloudynight is an up and coming photographer who captures the essence of nightlife in his cyber photography bringing all his images to life. The artist Noealz known for his cyber photos has taken a different approach in which his photos will have more serenity vibes. He has said this: My pieces are usually busy, with many animations, distortions, or glitches as they represent my view of cities and society as being constantly on the move for better or worse. In this case, I wanted to share my moments of serenity with others, moments in time when I feel at peace and one with my environment. For these pieces, I always wanted to follow the idea that ‘more is less’ sometimes. I wanted to include a different atmosphere for each image: oceans, forests, and cities.

Can you tell us about your background?

I first discovered the world of NFTs when I came across fvckrender’s “Spirit Stones” collection. The artwork immediately caught my eye and I knew I had to have one. Unfortunately, the collection had already sold out, but it sparked a passion in me to learn more about the world of NFTs. I soon found other artists whose work I loved and was able to purchase my first NFT, Goldweards’ “Axyl,” in February 2021.

Since then, I have become deeply invested in the NFT community, following my favorite artists, discovering new ones, and building a collection of my own. One artist whose work I particularly admire is MadDogJones. His piece “Dead Ramen” is my grail artwork that I hope to own one day. Another artist I have had the pleasure of working with is Eirdis, who comes from a more traditional art background and I love her artwork.

NFTs have opened up a whole new world of art collecting and has allowed me to discover and support talented artists from all over the globe. I am excited to see where this technology will take us in the future and am grateful to be a part of this community.

How you became an NFT art curator?

I have been passionate about art for as long as I can remember, and discovering the world of NFTs has only amplified that passion. My journey into the world of curation began in October 2021, when a friend and fellow art enthusiast, Plan X, suggested that I set up a show. I was thrilled at the opportunity to share the work of the many talented artists I had come to know and admire with a wider audience.

Since then, I have been working tirelessly behind the scenes as a consultant for many of the top artists in the NFT space. It has been an honor to help them navigate the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of NFTs, and to ensure that their projects are successful in both their careers and for their collectors. I am passionate about this work and feel that it is my duty to help these artists succeed.

Being a part of the NFT community has been an incredible experience and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for art with others. I am excited to see where this technology will take us in the future and am dedicated to being a part of that journey.

How do you select the artists you curate?

When it comes to selecting artists to work with, my main criteria is their work ethic. I am always on the lookout for artists who possess a genuine passion for producing content that others can enjoy in innovative ways. I believe that an artist’s work ethic is a reflection of their dedication to their craft, and it is this dedication that ultimately leads to the creation of truly exceptional art.

When assessing an artist’s work ethic, I pay close attention to their approach to creating new work, their willingness to experiment and take risks, and their ability to adapt to new technologies and trends. I am also interested in learning about their creative process, and what drives them to continue creating and producing new work.

I work hard to ensure that the artists I select are not only talented, but also have a true passion for their craft. I believe that this is what sets truly great artists apart from the rest, and it is this passion that I strive to find and nurture. I am always on the lookout for innovative and exciting new talent, and I am excited to continue working with artists who share my passion for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of art.

How do you see the NFT art market evolving in the future?

The NFT market is incredibly diverse and constantly evolving, making it difficult to predict the future. However, I believe that the market will continue to grow and evolve in a hybrid manner, alongside traditional art forms. I think that as the technology advances, physical artworks will become more integrated into the NFT space, and the authenticity of these physical artworks will be verified and secured through the use of NFTs.

I believe that NFTs will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the way we collect and authenticate physical artworks. NFTs provide a unique digital signature that can be used to verify the authenticity of a physical artwork, and this technology can be used to create smart contracts that will make it much easier for collectors to prove ownership and provenance of their artworks.

Furthermore, I think that the NFT market will continue to become more mainstream and will attract a larger audience of art collectors and enthusiasts. As the market continues to grow, I expect to see more traditional art institutions and galleries embracing the technology, and physical exhibitions featuring NFT artworks will become more common.

Can you speak to the role of curation in the NFT art space, and how it differs from traditional art curation?

The traditional art space has long been known for its high commission fees, which are often due to the many indirect costs associated with running a physical gallery or exhibition. These indirect costs can include things like rent, utilities, insurance, and staffing expenses. However, with the emergence of NFTs, it has become possible to reduce these indirect costs, making it more affordable for both curators and artists to produce and sell their work.

One of the key benefits of using NFTs is that it eliminates many of the indirect costs associated with traditional art sales. For example, NFTs do not require a physical space to be exhibited and sold, so the costs of rent and utilities are eliminated. Additionally, NFTs can be sold online, which eliminates the need for staffing expenses and allows for higher editions, making the art more accessible to a wider audience.

Another advantage of NFTs is that it allows for more flexibility in terms of editions and pricing. Traditional artworks are often limited to a small number of physical editions, which can make them expensive and out of reach for many buyers. With NFTs, it is possible to offer higher editions at a lower cost, due to the reduced costs of production and distribution. This makes it more accessible for buyers to own a piece of the artist’s work, and also helps support the artist’s career.

How do you stay current on the latest developments and trends in the NFT art world?

Staying current in the rapidly evolving world of NFTs can be challenging, but one of the most effective ways to stay informed is to connect with other people who share your passion for the industry. Building a network of friends and colleagues within the NFT community can provide a wealth of knowledge and resources that can help you stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

The people in the NFT space tend to be passionate and driven individuals, who are always willing to share their knowledge and help others learn more about the industry. By building relationships with these individuals, you can learn from their experiences and gain a deeper understanding of the market.

Can you share any insights on how to identify and invest in high-quality NFT art projects?

When evaluating potential artworks to invest in, I focus primarily on the artist’s portfolio. This allows me to gain a sense of their style and approach to creating art, and gives me an idea of whether they are a good candidate for investment. When identifying high-quality NFT artworks, I not only look at the art itself, but also what it can provide in terms of utility, such as its ability to change the current NFT industry. This can include things like the artist’s previous work, their vision, the work’s uniqueness, the team behind the project and the potential for the work to be used in other applications.

How do you see the interaction of physical and digital art in the future?

I believe that as times change, we will see a growing interaction between traditional art and the NFT industry. This interaction is similar to how photography was initially scorned by traditional art but later became widely accepted. Currently, the NFT industry may not be widely used, but it has not yet shown its full potential in differentiating itself from traditional art forms.

I think that traditional art and NFTs can coexist and support each other in the future. However, the technology is still evolving and it is difficult to predict exactly how the two will interact. As technology continues to advance, I believe that we will see new and innovative ways for the NFT industry to interact with traditional art forms, and in the future, it will be a natural integration.

How do you approach the question of authenticity and provenance in the NFT art market?

Authenticity is a crucial aspect of the NFT industry, and it cannot be faked or lied about. However, there have been instances where research is necessary to ensure authenticity. One such example is the Fvckrender case, which highlights the importance of conducting research before making transactions, despite the authenticity being proved. Many people tend to rely on word of mouth, but it is important to do your own research, even if it’s just a quick search on Etherscan, to feel confident in your transactions.

Where are you from?

I was born in Chicago, and moved to Rhode Island when I was 24. I lived there for 10 years before settling in Southern California.

Can you tell us about your background and what lead you down the path to becoming an artist and ultimately experimenting with NFTs?

I’ve been an illustrator my entire life. Around 2005 I was airbrushing t-shirts and doing editorial illustrations for an adult magazine. I pitched the idea of airbrush body painting one of the models for the magazine’s photo spreads. The founders of the mag said yes, and I gave it a shot. I was completely hooked and haven’t stopped body painting since.

When I first learned about NFTs in 2021, it just clicked. It was like everything in my life led up to this moment. It was the first time I could offer my ephemeral art as original artworks, visibly in motion, and everything just fit PERFECTLY!

When did you mint your first NFT? What platform did you choose and why?

I minted my first NFT on Opensea, March 7, 2021. My research led me there and it made sense to try it out with the lazy minting process.

Can you tell us one thing you cannot live without?

I can’t live without my laptop. It has enabled me to really share my art in unimaginable ways.

Who is your favorite artist(s) (Non NFT)? What about their style resonates with you?

It varies from moment to moment, and I have so many faves. But usually, I’d have to say Helmut Newton, Stanley Kubrick. Their technical wizardry and visual narrative is beyond attractive to me.

Who is your favorite NFT artist? What makes this artist unique?

I’ve collected over 1500 NFTs. I’m a big fan of figurative art, naked bodies, or candid figures.I loooove Yana Strizh’s @YStrizh work. I think she’s highly underrated. Phazed, NoOneNoise, DavidCheifitz, Luluxxx, Pinxx, and soooo many others, the list goes on and on.

What made you pursue NFT art?

I instantly understood NFTs. I wasn’t one of those people that did not get it at first. I quickly realized the potential and how efficient they are compared to traditional printing, framing, storing and displaying gallery art. It solves a TON of problems, and cuts out unnecessary middlemen. I jumped on board immediately.

What is the one piece of NFT art you wish you had purchased but missed out on?

Bored Ape Yacht Club of course.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Why this location? What are your other passions besides art? Why?

I live by the beach in California right where I want to be, so I really don’t care to go anywhere else. But I wouldn’t mind taking the train up the coast to check out Oregon and head into Astoria where the Goonies live.

In the meantime, I love exploring Decentraland. I can see amazing things more efficiently from the comfort of my home while only wearing my underwear.

Decentraland offers a LOT. I’ve meet soooo many people from all over the world that I now call family. the community is STRONG. And the support for my art is unparalleled. I own a gallery in Decentraland where I showcase my work, offer solo and group shows for others, and release parties for collections and collectibles with solid beats by amazing DJs. It really beats driving in traffic to get to venues, and the cost associated with setting up shows in real life. In fact, I wish more NFT artists would explore the meta verse. I don’t believe NFTs are early anymore, but the metaverse certainly is. It’s only a matter of time before laggers are just late to the gate.

Do you make other forms of art?

Well, I learned how to model in 3D and have been creating and selling my branded wearables in Decentraland. This includes jean jackets with my art on them, my actual glasses, the virtual shark head from my shark body painting series, and my first virtual body painting. They are all wearable on avatars within Decentraland and I’ve sold more virtual wearables than real life t-shirts.

How did you come up with your specific style?

I can’t say I really have a specific style. I explore everything. I get bored very easily, so I’m always trying different painted concepts on the skin, whatever is inspiring in the moment.

How has your style evolved over the years?

Well I can definitely say that the first five years of my career revolved around technique, and then I began to apply concept. I’m in a state now where I don’t think about it too much, the airbrush and paints are just an extension of my hand and just produce what’s in my head like second nature. It’s just a form of communication now.

What is coming in the near future?

Today, I am dropping my inaugural collection on Nifty Gateway invited by the Mad Pups.

This is a VERY exciting honor for me, and I’m thrilled to put out this unique 24 Open Edition featuring 5 painted ladies in a futuristic cyberpunk neon theme.

If you could collaborate with one artist who would it be?

I recently had a wonderful collaboration with Luluxxx. And it was a joy!

I would love to collaborate with Mike Tyson or Paris Hilton within the NFT space. I want to paint tyson like a tiger, or paris hilton like a diamond.

What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?

I think of failures as tremendous learning opportunities. My entire art career has been a series of failures that level me up through trial and error. With that said, I’d say my biggest “failure” (more waste of time) was attempting to be a graphic designer. I did what I thought I was supposed to do, and was incredibly miserable as a result. I’m just not built to work for other people, and do sub par creative artwork to meet some expectation when I know I can do better. I’ve had very fun unique jobs my entire life, and that was the most “normal” job ever for me. I got out of that in a quick 3 months, and never again. I learned my place in the world thanks to that job. Instead I trailblazed a career for myself as a body painter the past 17 years.

I’m from New Jersey USA but I’ve been traveling for the passed 10 years as a photographer and have been to 45 countries .

Can you tell us about your background and what lead you down the path to becoming an artist and ultimately experimenting with NFTs?

Traveling and living in 4 countries in the passed 10 years I started to document my travels through photography. After establishing a presence through Instagram a lot of my family and friends inspired me to look into NFTs as a way to show my art to a wider audience. 6 months ago I decided to mint my first collection which was a series of photos from Cuba, I generated 6 Eth volume in 6 months and sold 48 NFTs so far.

When did you mint your first NFT? What platform did you choose and why?

6 months ago I minted my Genesis collection which was a series called Cubano Streets. I used opensea to mint my first collection,now I am on multiple platforms such as foundation and know origin.

Can you tell us one thing you cannot live without? (and why)

I cannot live without the flexibility to travel. It’s a necessity for me and a huge part of keeping myself happy and balanced. I literally can not stop learning from travel experiences, it’s the only thing that motivates me to keep creating.

Who is your favorite artist(s) (Non NFT)? What about their style resonates with you

Fan Ho was a Hong Kong based photographer from the 60s , his way of capturing light and shadow through film photography was absolutely amazing. He’s my favorite artist and being that I lived in Asia for 10 years his photos really resonated with me.

Who is your favourite NFT artist? What makes this artist unique?

Ali Sabet is my favorite NFT artist, his style is so vibrant and his workflow is so fluid. Watching him create is therapeutic. He’s also one of the nicest people in the space. Hes unique in the sense that even though he’s had tremendous success he will still take your calls or jump into a space with you and share knowledge. He’s a down to Earth genuine artist .

What made you pursue NFT art?

I’ve always been in crypto learning about the new technologies being created on the blockchain. When NFTs came around I immediately knew this was an opportunity to get my art out there for people to see. It wasn’t until a friend of mine pushed me to mint my first collection and had the patience to curate it thoroughly.

What is the one NFT you wish you had purchased but missed out on

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Why this location?

Well this question is interesting as I made a life out of traveling and have been to 45 countries so far, however for me my top destination has always been Mongolia, Georgia and Armenia. I love history and these places historically for me are a dream. I want to live amongst the nomads on the Mongolian Steppe and experience their lifestyles living in yurts. Documenting them in photojournalistic way. The landscapes in all those places are very motivating for me to create.

What are your other passions besides art? Why?

I think we can confirm my biggest passion is traveling, learning new languages and experiencing history and culture . I really enjoy being outside my comfort zone because it forces you to adapt and absorb knowledge. Being abroad also has made me more aware of the world and has helped my style of art be unique compared to other artists.

Do you make other forms of art?

As a photographer I have found myself going into other mediums of art through collaboration. It’s been an interesting direction to fuse my photography with other artists styles such as illustration, oil paints and digital art.

Are you self taught or trained?

Yes I am self taught, I would say for the passed 6 years I’ve studied basics and continued to learn more intensive strategies and skills through tutorials and other photographers

How did you come up with your specific style?

To be honest I’m still trying to figure out if I even have a style. All my art has varied in the passed years and I did it on purpose because I rarely do things exactly the same. My art is inspired by my location so I’m never keeping the same theme. Maybe my audience can tell me if they can find a style in my art eventually.

How has your style evolved over the years?

I’ve experimented a lot in the last few years, tweaking a lot of how I understand color grading combinations and what I want the focus of my art to be. I started out as a drone photographer focusing on landscapes and now I am doing for story telling photojournalistic work that empowers change focusing on history and culture.

What is coming in the near future?

I’m working on some amazing collaborations with some great artists including my favorite artist which I’m really excited for. I’m also planning on making another move either to Latin America or Asia.

If you could collaborate with one artist who would it be? (and why)

Wow what a question because I’ve already begun collaboration with that artist but let’s keep it interesting here. If I were to choose another artist to collaborate with now I would go with Michael Yamashita . He’s a new Jersey native like myself I believe I could learn a lot from him as he’s an experienced photographer specifically with national geographic which is a goal of mine to be in.

What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?

My greatest failure was probably not getting into NFTs sooner but time in the market and patience is key in this space for sure. I’ve had a lot of success even in a bear market so I’m looking forward to the next cycle. We have to realize that we’re all artists even before NFTs so our failures should just be inspiration to continue creating.

The last NFT I sold was my highest sale which was 1.666 Ethereum

Do you have any upcoming drops?

Yes I am currently in the process of getting on to super rare. Once that happens I will be dropping a very important collection to me.

The Burrow is a South Asian artist collective, formed with a mission to help bring emerging artists into the spotlight and provide value to the community through theme-based curated drops like Pluralize.

The Burrow is a South Asian artist collective with a mission to make emerging artists visible in the NFT space. Our goal is to bring spotlight on emerging artists and provide value to the community through theme based curated drops like Pluralize, and initiatives like The Burrow Art Fund, where smart contracts and minting dApps are either fully sponsored or subsidised by the collective every month.

With Pluralize, our goal was to showcase that diversity of thought, process, and technique, can all come together to tell similar stories in their own unique way. This series of NFTs is aimed to “pluralize” the same idea or message with different genres of photography and art styles.

How did you come up with the idea? 

The idea of a collective drop originated from the reflection that, despite showing up every day, South Asian photographers did not receive the same recognition for their work as their counterparts from other parts of the world. Additionally, there was a need for a level playing field so that both established and emerging artists had an equal chance of having their work collected. Considering these, 30+ photographer friends who were in the space from early to mid-2021, supporting each other, decided to work together and form The Burrow. 

What makes this project unique? 

Pluralize by the Burrow was the first theme-based 1/1 NFT collection by photographers across 12 genres. What makes the second drop unique is that 100 artists share their interpretation of what Pause means to them across multiple genres of photography and 2D art. The final 100 are carefully curated by well-known artists so that there is no compromise on the quality or coherence of the theme. The delayed reveal mechanism ensures that the popular artists, as well as the emerging artists, have an equal chance of getting their art collected. 

How was the response to The Burrow’s first drop? 

The Burrow’s genesis drop (Pluralize – Rising Hope) was very well received. The collection of 40 1/1 photos was sold out in less than 35 mins, with 2.7 ETH in secondary sales and was widely supported by collectors like DeezeFi, Punk 2070, Snow.eth, Blockboob, Cyborgnomad, AlphaTrilogy, etc.

What perks did the collectors of the first drop get? 

Coffee Table Books: We raffled off 5 Limited Edition Coffee Table Books, containing all 40 photographs from the genesis collection, to Pluralize Holders. Physical books are to be shipped soon. 

Airdrops: Select artists, part of the 2nd drop, from The Burrow airdropped editioned photos to Pluralize Holders. This made sure that collectors discover emerging artists, even outside of the drop, once they are a part of The Burrow. This discovery resulted in collectors collecting more photos from these artists.

Can you tell us about your background and what lead you down the path to becoming an  artist and ultimately experimenting with NFTs?  

I studied painting, art history and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. I spent almost 12 years working in fashion photography, after my art studies, my  photographic career grew very fast. 

I was involved in an apparently very fascinating and stimulating world. From that moment it has been a continuous growth, I have been able to travel, I have lived  and worked in Milan, Paris and NY. I was very enthusiastic. 

My artistic approach to photography initially helped me, but I was often forced to create  images for a purely commercial purpose. 

This is fashion photography. Taking photos to sell a product and over the years creativity is  increasingly put aside, little quality and a lot of quantity. 

This deviated from my photographic approach, from my point of view and I began to lose  motivation and interest. 

The world of fashion is incredible, it makes you dream, but it is also made of lightness,  superficiality, parties, relationships. promiscuity, and all that comes with it. A world that can lead you to lose yourself. 

And that’s what happened to me. 

Nft gave me a new light, the community, accepted me with open arms, and the idea that my  creativity can be recognized and appreciated for what it is, for my point of view and what I want to  communicate, is wonderful, incredible. Here I want to show my self, my uncompromising  emotions. 

When did you mint your first NFT? What platform did you choose and why?  

I posted my first work on foundation in September, I chose foundation because it seemed to me  the most accessible of the non-free platforms like Opensea. 

I easily fulfilled an invitation and made my first drop. I remember it was a photo of Graund zero  posted on 11 September, 10 years of commemoration.. 

Can you tell us one thing you cannot live without? (and why) 

apparently I cannot live without so many things, even if in recent years I have learned to relieve  myself of the thousand addictions I had. 

but one thing about the others is food, I love to cook and eat, and as a cook I manage very well,  almost professionally, Traveling I always had a curiosity to try, taste and experiment with new  tastes, cuisines and cultures and where they do not arrive words food plays a fundamental role, of  family sharing. Where words do not reach, it is possible to communicate with food 

Who is your favorite artist(s) (Non NFT)? What about their style resonates with you?  

there are many artists who have inspired and moved me. I studied art history in a very old Italian  classical school in Milan, many artists pass through my mind at this time. 

I think of moments related to photography, my last 15 years, certainly from Helmut Newton,  Richard Avedon, to Steven Klein, Juergen Teller. 

I have built my style over time, over the years spent shooting, absorbing and experimenting. 

Who is your favourite NFT artist? What makes this artist unique?  

there are various NFT artists here that I adore, and respect. 

Xcopy for its unique style and rock bastard, digital raw. it affects me how it affects many people in  the nft world 

Guido DiSalle is a Legend, for his photos, really recognizable, and the strength of him in being able  to establish himself in a new environment. 

What made you pursue NFT art?  

six months ago I was experiencing a moment of change, my work my profession as a fashion  photographer somehow tired me, it took me in the wrong direction for myself, I had lost  concentration, passion. I was looking for a change, I wanted to go back to being an artist, to get  passionate about photography. 

an acquaintance made me part of the nft world, and its potential. 

I took courage and threw myself into it without knowing anything, and now I’m learning about this  incredible world that presents you with possibilities that were almost impossible before. 

What is the one piece of NFT art you wish you had purchased but missed out on?  I am now understanding wht I would like to have, what I should have bought. 

I’m still at the beginning in a sense. I have not had the opportunity to invest some sums of money. I  am waiting to understand and invest and to start collecting artists that I like regardless of the  market. 

for now I am a new born collector. 

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Why this location? 

II have been lucky, I have traveled a lot, for my work, for pleasure, for attitude, from America in the  North, to Mexico, Japan, China Europe, I miss the sound America Argentina, and I am intrigued by  the countries of the extreme north , where everything changes. 

Africa and India are my next destinations, but I’m never ready to go there, there is a side that  attracts me and one that scares me. 

there are areas in India, intense, you have to be mentally ready. 

What are your other passions besides art? Why?  

other passions, they have always been music, I played drums for years, then the piano, the guitar,  the sax, I played, sang in a band in Italy that had a small moment of splendor, I love excesses,  which often they led me astray. 

Now I love to cook, I’ve always loved it but right now I’m very focused on this 

Do you make other forms of art?  

in addition to playing cooking, I have always taken photos, before I painted on negatives and  printed them, obtaining very particular effects. 

now I tend to burn my photos, when I don’t like them, working with fire levels and ashes to take  them to another dimension 

How did you come up with your specific style?  

I have always been attracted to black and white when I started shooting on film and it gave me a  feeling of mystery, a vision of reality different from what we see in color. 

in black and white everything becomes more mysterious, it’s like capturing moments on the  border between light and dark. where anything can happen. I am kidnapped. Over time I have  learned to understand what I am happy with and what I am not, I have found my light, my world in  which to transport my subjects, from models to actors and singers to ordinary people. I take  whoever I shoot into my private world, capturing passing moments that become visible through  my eyes. 

In my work I mainly shoot models, women and men, beautiful people. However, this is not enough for me, I don’t mind taking a beautiful woman and showing  only the more superficial side, the aesthetic beauty., Which everyone can see and  immortalize with a camera. 

My research is always linked to stealing an inner beauty, which can be cheerful, angry and  sad, made up of shades, of my light, and of the dark, given by the attitude, by the look, by  the light in the eyes, by the details. 

I often like to work naturally, other times I like to build an idea of a woman of power, of  transgression of sensuality and non-sexuality. I don’t like seeing photos of women who are  obviously in sexy attitudes, which are trivial to me. 

I love portraits, I like to approach the subject in a disruptive way. 

I’m intrigued by imperfections.

I also want to show more hidden, more intimate sides, made up of addiction, excesses,  transgression, unique moments that each of us in our intimacy may have experienced.  There are also moments of anguish. 

I want to bring fire as an element of rebirth, of change, so I started burning some of my  shots. 

How has your style evolved over the years?  

it has developed, working on it, experimenting. the work of fashion photographer has often led  me out of the way, because it is easy for work to ask you to take pictures even if different from  your style, and often your point of view ends up getting lost. 

What is coming in the near future?  

I hope a lot of news, I have been in the NFT world for 6 months now I feel a little more confident,  but I still have a lot to learn and to give. 

I would like to be recognized as an absolute NFT artist, this is my goal now. I continue to work to improve myself and give my best. 

I just created my discord, I will have the opportunity to grow a community, show my works, share  opinions with other artists and collectors. 

I have a drop in Makersplace in the next days on the 29th and KNow Origin and other projects are  coming. 

If you could collaborate with one artist who would it be?  

I would love to realize a collaboration with A.L.Crego. Love him and is art 

What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?  

Some time ago I got lost, in relationships, in excesses, in work and I was no longer happy, I no  longer knew who I was. 

I found myself transported to earth by the stars, on my knees. 

I left Italy to seek radical change because I was destroying myself. 

I have learned to be friends with my fears. 

they have so much to teach me.
